Ingredients:
225g Self raising flour
1tsp Baking powder
45g Butter
25g Sugar
75ml Milk
1 Egg (plus extra if using an egg glaze)
Method:
1) Preheat a baking tray at 230C
2) Mix flour and baking powder
3) Rub in butter until it resembles fine breadcrumbs
4) Mix in the sugar
5) mix in the egg and milk to the breadcrumb mixture
6) Once a soft dough is formed, roll out on a floured surface until just thicker than thumb thickness
7) Cut with your size choice of fluted (or unfitted if you don’t have one) cutter
8) Glaze with milk and/or egg wash
8) Place on the hot baking tray and bake for 7-9 minutes until golden on top
