Hi, I’m Josie, an architectural engineer during the week and an enthusiastic home cook on the weekends. This little corner of the internet started to put my well-loved uni recipe notebook online (and keep growing it). I’ve always loved cooking, baking, and all things food. I nearly chose culinary school over architectural engineering, so now I do a bit of both. You only live once, right?
I learned to love the kitchen from a young age, standing on a chair beside my mum. Teaching me meant extra bits of egg shell made it into cakes, more cleaning up, and slower dinners, but she never rushed. She would ask “Are you sure that’s a teaspoon?” questions until I could do everything by myself and now I bake all of her birthday cakes. She’s a brilliant home cook who can make anything from scratch, she showed me that good food is simple, patient and joyful (and keeps washing up to a minimum).
My dad’s the extravagant one, my family’s go-to for restaurant-style dishes and weekend “shall we try something new?” experiments. He loves to play with flavours, plate like a pro, and send a small army of bowls and saucepans to the sink. Think punchy sauces, the finest joint of steak and homemade pasta on a Sunday. He’s the reason I’ll try the cheffy stuff.
You’ll find everything here: from easy-peasy, kid-friendly dishes to weekend projects that stretch your skills. No specialist gadgets or hard-to-find ingredients, just supermarket staples and straightforward steps. Less fuss, less washing up, more delicious.
I’ll keep adding new recipes. For now, dive in and try a few favourites—I can’t wait to hear what you make!
